Solution
GPS Tracking
Know where every vehicle and asset is, second by second, on one live map.
GPS tracking is the foundation of everything else on the GPS.AL platform. Positions arrive from the tracking device over the mobile network, are validated and stored, and appear on the live map with the vehicle's speed, heading, ignition state and the address nearest to that point.
Because every position is retained, the same data answers questions after the fact: where a vehicle was at 14:40 last Tuesday, how long it stood at a delivery point, and which route it actually took between two stops.
Capabilities
What gps tracking includes
Live map view
Every tracked unit on one map, updating as new positions arrive, with clustering for larger fleets.
Trip history and replay
Play back any vehicle's day as an animated route with stops, idle periods and speed along the way.
Stop and idle detection
Automatic separation of driving, stopped-with-ignition-on and parked time, with durations attached to each.
Address resolution
Coordinates are matched to readable place names so reports make sense without reading latitude and longitude.
Multi-asset support
Cars, vans, trucks, trailers, machinery and portable trackers all appear in the same fleet view.
Position accuracy controls
Filtering of implausible positions and configurable reporting intervals by ignition state and movement.
Outcomes
What teams use it for
- Answer customer location questions in seconds instead of phoning the driver
- Settle disputes over arrival and departure times with recorded evidence
- See unauthorised out-of-hours movement as it happens
- Build every other report on a clean, continuous position history
FAQ
Questions we are asked about this
Reporting intervals are configurable per device profile, and are normally set tighter while the ignition is on and looser while parked to conserve data and battery.
